Restoring Ghoulbane
Walkthrough
Restore the legendary Ghoulbane sword by retrieving it from the Tomb of Valor, empowering it against three named foes, and defeating Lord Everling in Nektropos Castle.
How to start
Speak with Toranim Skyblade in the Temple of Life in North Qeynos. Evil characters should travel through The Down Below to avoid guards. If you previously declined this quest, pay at least 10 gold for a second chance to prove yourself.

Notes & prerequisites
- Adventure level 36+ required (heroic difficulty).
- Complete The Dusty Blue Stone — this is the 3rd quest in a series starting with Vida Needs a New Broom in Qeynos Province District. You can skip Vida's quest by purchasing a dusty blue stone on the broker.
- The Cauldron Hollow must be entered to complete this quest. The Gates of Cauldron Hollow access quest is no longer required. All group members must be at least level 30 to zone in.
- To kill Lord Everling in Nektropos Castle basement, someone in your group must have completed The Everling Lockets (you can complete it on the way to the basement).
Steps
1. Retrieve the ghoulbane
Zone into The Tomb of Valor from Stormhold and pick up the ghoulbane sword. Only one copy spawns per instance.
- The Tomb is a group zone — one person enters and all are pulled in.
- No fighting is required to pick up the sword.
- Disband your group and enter solo instances so each member gets their own sword without re-running combat.

2. Return to Toranim Skyblade
Return to Toranim Skyblade in the Temple of Life. He gives you the Weakened Ghoulbane.

3. Kill The Specter of Ire
Find and kill The Specter of Ire. Placeholders are An ire minion and An ire warlock. There are 10 spawn points in the zone with approximately 30-minute respawn.

Tips
- The three named kills (Specter of Ire, The Creator, Descendant of the Torig) can be done in any order.
- Disband for Tomb of Valor sword pickup — solo instances avoid repeated group re-entry.
- In Cauldron Hollow, never skip ahead on lost soul sets or the boss sequence may break.
- Plan for Stormhold/ToV, Crypt of Betrayal, Varsoon, Cauldron Hollow, and Nektropos — bring a heroic group.

Quest Text
Toranim, a paladin visiting the Temple of Life, was able to tell me what the mysterious blue stone is and set me on the path to restoring Ghoulbane to its former glory. My first task is going to be recovering the sword from the tomb of the Stormlords in Stormhold.
Completion
Toranim was able to recombine the Ghoulbane sword with its adornment. After slaying powerful undead in the Crypt of Betrayal, the Ruins of Varsoon, and Cauldron Hollow, Toranim sent me to take Ghoulbane and finish the task the last paladin that held the blade set out to do. Upon destroying the ghost of Lord Everling Ghoulbane returned to full power.
