- Charles Arker: "You're that new recruit I keep hearing about. [Player Character], isn't it?"
- Player Character: "I'm not a recruit. I volunteered."
- Charles Arker: "Your reputation precedes you -- as will mine, someday soon. When I return to Freeport, my prestige will bring honor to my family. I came here to make a name for myself, but it's been difficult to stand out in a crowd. I have a new assignment and it's puzzling me. Would you help me unravel it?"
- Player Character: "What kind of help do you need?"
- Charles Arker: "There's a lot of undercover work here, which means even if you do well, the higher-ups may not know it's you doing the work. Some of my best work was claimed by someone else and I mean to fix that. Not long ago, I intercepted part of a note one of the Tunarian spies was delivering. They've hidden the remaining pieces. We need to get them all back to learn more of what they're doing."
- Player Character: "Certainly."
- Charles Arker: "I appreciate it, [Player Character]. Whatever glory comes of this, we'll share in the credit. I'm sure this will more than make up for the work I've done that others have taken credit for."
- Player Character: "I'll see what I can find out."
- Charles Arker: "A word of warning: be wary of those wood elves. They're more cunning than others may realize."
- Player Character: "I'll keep that in mind."
Charles Arker will give me the pieces of parchment that I'll need to investigate this puzzle. I've received the initial pieces of parchment from Charles Arker. The Tunarians have probably hidden the rest of this parchment and they feel secure. It will be up to me to shatter their security. I should take a look at these parchment scraps given to me by Charles Arker to get some more clues on where to gather more.
I've examined the parchment. Search the Tunarian horse sentries for more pieces of parchment.
I've located another piece of parchment. I should examine the pieces.
I've examined the parchment. Remove some of the wildbear cubs. Taking out the young will delay the Tunarian plans for them.
I've slain the wilderbear cubs. Now to remove some of the wilderbears themselves!
I've slain several wilderbears. I'm not sure whether there's more to this parchment or not. I'll take another look and see if it makes any more sense now.
I need to return to Charles Arker and show him the pieces I've assembled. Hopefully he has found the scraps that I missed and we'll know what the Tunarians are doing. Speak with Charles Arker.
- Charles Arker: "The Tunarian note is still incomplete, but this may be enough to advance our prestige, [Character Name]. You know, you're very good at this kind of thing. Tell me, would you be interested in helping me on a more personal level?"
I returned to Charles Arker with the parchment pieces.
Though I located some of the notes' scattered pieces, I wasn't able to locate every piece. Neither was Charles Arker, though he believes this note has some significance. It's frustrating to realize that the Tunarians are planning something, yet we are completely unable to solve the riddle. Perhaps in time, more will be made clear to me.
