Walkthrough
Recover odd mechanical pieces in the Moors of Ykesha, research a time machine in Qeynos or Freeport, and track down a jagged diamond dagger in Runnyeye for Ukaskis the Trader.
How to start
Hail Gabblin Bittlegrip at the Dropship Landing Zone in the Moors of Ykesha to begin.

Steps
1. Retrieve 8 odd mechanical pieces
Find and harvest 8 odd mechanical pieces scattered across the Moors of Ykesha. Some appear as small cogs that blend with the ground.
- Pieces do not show on Track Harvestables.
- If a waypoint whisp vanishes, look carefully at that spot and move around until the cog appears.

2. Return the pieces to Gabblin
Return the 8 mechanical pieces to Gabblin Bittlegrip at the Dropship Landing Zone.

3. Find the blue book in Qeynos or Freeport
Search the mage libraries for information on the time machine. In South Qeynos mage tower (red portal), find a single blue manual on the floor south of two large stacks of books. Alternatively, in North Freeport mage guild, find a blue book on the bottom shelf in the far back corner.

4. Examine the note and speak to an enchanter
Examine the note in your inventory, then speak to an enchanter — Melinnae Welxen in South Qeynos mage tower (blue portal) or R'dyles Mar'dril in North Freeport mage guild.

5. Search The Ruins of Guk: The Lower Corridors
Enter The Ruins of Guk: The Lower Corridors and pick up a scroll in a cell near Hoptor Thagglor.
- If Guk beasties are grey, mentor down or Aruze Vleese will not drop the chest containing the jail key.

6. Speak to Ukaskis the Trader
Talk to Ukaskis the Trader in Maj'Dul for more information on rarities.

7. Retrieve the jagged diamond dagger
Locate a jagged diamond dagger in Runnyeye: The Gathering. The dagger is on the floor in a small room north of the Trophy Room and Snok Eyegouger, near the Gigglegibber mender.

8. Return to Ukaskis the Trader
Return to Ukaskis the Trader in Maj'Dul to complete the quest and receive a broken mechanical pen.

Tips
- Mechanical piece spawn points are listed on the Fandom talk page — some cogs are nearly invisible against the ground.
- You can do the library step in either Qeynos or Freeport.
- Mentor before Guk if mobs are grey, or you will miss the jail key chest drop.

Quest Text
I met with an industrious gnome by the name of Gabblin Bittlegrip, who discovered an odd assortment of mechanical parts within the Moors of Ykesha. He wants to study the parts he found, but believes that there are more parts still hidden out in the Moors. He's quite excited at the prospect of finding the parts, however, he is too excited studying the ones he has to leave and find more. I guess I'll help him out.
Completion
It seems that my act of kindness to one gnome has led to a much deeper adventure than I had planned. After much traveling, I've seemingly picked up on the trail of a lady gnome from the past, in search of the Shining Metallic Robes, although what her intentions were are still unclear. For now, I've got a mystery to solve, and little more than a broken mechanical pen to go on.

Done: Although the manual itself was convoluted and difficult to read, I did find a note marked "W", which mentioned the ancient Shining Metallic Robe.
