I found an obsidian summoning rune buried in a wall within the mines below the keep. Touching it burned an image of blackness all around me, with blue fiery eyes staring back at me. The message is clear to me. I must not allow any vile lichfiends to remain alive.
The darkness has abated within the mines, as light from the torches are once again allowed to flow unhindered after the banishment of several vile lichfiends.
