Some of the dialogue for this quest varies depending on your conversation choices.
- Miella Maarsitotts: "Would you like to learn the language of the Fae?"
- Player Character: "Yes, I would."
- Miella Maarsitotts: "Our language is called "Faerlie" and is very similar to Feir'Dal, as we have lived alongside wood elves for many generations. Most people who have a knack for languages pick it up very quickly."
- Player Character: "How do I get started?"
- Miella Maarsitotts: "The best way to learn is by speaking with the locals! I'll teach you some basic phrases, then you go practice them with the Fae who live here in Kelethin. Pretty simple, huh?"
- Player Character: "Let's get started!"
My lessons in Faerlie begin now with Miella Maarsitotts. I need to learn a couple of useful phrases from Miella Maarsitotts before I'll be able to speak Faerlie properly.
- Miella Maarsitotts: "Let's begin. Curl your tongue into a "U" shape. Luh luhss."
- Player Character: "Huh?"
- Miella Maarsitotts: "Luh luhss! See how my tongue is curled like an oak leaf? That helps build your flexibility for Faerlie. Practice! All right! Your first phrase is, "Where is the pavilion?" Say it with your tongue in the proper position: "Uhh ussthuh hahillion?""
- Player Character: "That's insane!"
- Miella Maarsitotts: "You don't really want to learn, do you?"
- Player Character: "I want to learn, I don't want to look ridiculous trying!"
- Miella Maarsitotts: "You can't learn a foreign language if you aren't comfortable speaking it with native speakers. These exercises are proven to help. Try it: "Uhh ussthuh hahillion?""
- Player Character:"Why do I have to say something silly like that? Wouldn't I rather know where the nearest lift is located?
- Miella Maarsitotts: "You might, but if you don't practice a phrase like this one, you'll never be able to wrap yourself around saying "Uhh ussthuh heheh hith," will you?"
- Player Character: "Fine. Uhh ussthuh hahillion."
- Player Character: "Uhh ussthuh hahillion?"

- Miella Maarsitotts: "Excellent! Next we'll try, "Where is Kelethin?" Say it: "Uhh ussth Hethethen?""

- Miella Maarsitotts: "Very good. I think you're ready to spend time talking with the locals. Head over to Jysolin's Pub and practice there."
- Player Character: "So far all I'm doing is speaking normally, but with my tongue curled up."
- Miella Maarsitotts: "This is laying the groundwork. Trust me, you'll learn Faerlie this way! Practice speaking to some of the locals in pub, then come back and let me know your progress!"

Miella taught me some exercises to help me prepare for my new language. I've spoken with Miella and must now practice further. In order to successfully learn Faerlie, I'll need to speak with some Fae, who are obviously native speakers of the language. Miella suggested I talk with the patrons of Jysolin's Pub, which is close by. Danaria Redvine is a Fae patron in Jysolin's Pub. Zilender Pilimaartu is a Fae patron in Jysolin's Pub. Paiva Kapanen is a Fae barmaid in Jysolin's Pub. Jysolin Nerala is the owner of Jysolin's Pub.

- Danaria Redvine: "Excuse me? JYSOLIN! You need to stop serving this one!"
- Player Character: "No! No! I'm practicing my Faerlie speaking skills!"
- Danaria Redvine: "You are? Oh. Ohhhhh. I bet you're studying with Miella Maarsitotts."

- Danaria Redvine: "She's an excellent instructor. You're doing well. Keep up the good work."

- Zilendar Pilimaartu: "I'm sorry, I can't hear you above the background chatter around here. Can you repeat that, but a little louder?"
- Player Character: "HA HAM UHUHUH OOWY PTHWAWIE THWEAKING SWILLTH!"
- Zilendar Pilimaartu: "Yes, I have tried the fish and it was excellent. Will you be here all week?"
- Player Character: "Forget it."

- Player Character: "Uh hoh, ha ham uhuhuh oowy Pthwawie thweaking swillth."
- Paiva Kapanen: "We don't carry that here. Have you tried Joleena's Restaurant?"
- Player Character: "No, no...let me try again. Ha ham uhuhuh oowy Pthwawie thweaking swillth."
- Paiva Kapanen: "What?"
- Player Character: "Ha ham uhuhuh oowy Pthwawie thweaking swillth. OOWY PTHWAWIE THWEAKING SWILLTH! OOWY SWILLTH!"
- Paiva Kapanen: "Calm down! Calm down! I'm sure there's an antidote somewhere!"
- Player Character: "I'm practicing my Faerlie speaking skills!"
- Paiva Kapanen: "Oh. Why didn't you say so in the first place? Nice accent. Want to buy something or not?"
- Player Character: "No. Thanks."

- Jysolin Nerala: "What'll you have?"
- Player Character: "Uh hoh, ha ham uhuhuh oowy Pthwawie thweaking swillth."
- Jysolin Nerala: "One of Miella's students, eh? I wish folks would stop listening to her talk about vocal exercises and all. You want to speak Faerlie, you need to better understand us by performing one of our rituals."
- Player Character: "Thu ween Hi on'th thabthu thweak with wy ooyong hoolth uh whth thith?"
- Jysolin Nerala: "Am I talking with my tongue curled up? No! And neither should you. What you want to do is get in touch with the Fae spirit within you. If you didn't have one, you wouldn't want to learn Faerlie, would you?"
- Player Character: "I hadn't thought of it that way."
- Jysolin Nerala: "Tunare is the one who can guide you to learning Faerlie. Make an offering to her. Take the Old Kelethin Acorn Lift and do so right at the base of Tunare's Sapling, over the memorial stone. It's nearly covered by water now, but you can easily find it."
- Player Character: "What kind of an offering?"
- Jysolin Nerala: "It's my experience that Tunare likes a good ale. Here, have one on the house. Head down to Tunare's Sapling and offer it up to her. That's all you need."
- Player Character: "Miella said I should return to her when I was done here."
- Jysolin Nerala: "Then go ahead and see her, but AFTER you've presented this offering to Tunare. It can't possibly hurt any more than running around speaking that way, can it?"
- Player Character: "No, I suppose not. Thanks!"
I've spoken with Jysolin. I've practiced speaking with several locals. Jysolin told me that the real way to learn Faerlie is to get in touch with my inner Fae spirit. He suggested I make an offering to Tunare. I need to take this ale that Jysolin Nerala gave me to the base of Tunare's Sapling and offer it to Tunare at the memorial stone in the water.
The stone of the memorial marker is almost completely submerged beneath the water. No writing is visible on it. Refracting light from above undulates across the rough stone surface.
The ale mixes in with the rest of the water. You are unsure whether you've done the correct thing, or if this is even the correct memorial. However, a sense of accomplishment flows through you, and all doubts are swept away.
I've made the appropriate offering. I've made an offering to Tunare. Miella Maarsitotts will be waiting to hear about my progress speaking Faerlie with the locals. I'll find Miella Maarsitotts near Jysolin's Pub.
- Miella Maarsitotts: "Have you been practicing your Faerlie skills?"
- Player Character: "I spoke with several Fae in Jysolin's Pub."
- Miella Maarsitotts: "Ha! Ha! Ha! Oh, dear! I had no idea you'd really go off and do that! Oh! My sides hurt! Ha!"
- Player Character: "What's so funny?"
- Miella Maarsitotts: "I'm sorry...hardly anyone actually falls for that old trick any more! That did me a world of good! Whew!"
- Player Character: "I don't think that was very nice of you."
- Miella Maarsitotts: "Aw, don't be mad for keeps! It was just some harmless fun. The real way to learn Faerlie is to..."
- Player Character: "...get in touch with my inner Fae spirit."
- Miella Maarsitotts: "That's it! I'll bet Jysolin told you, huh? He's such a softie! Did you make the offering to Tunare?"
- Player Character: "Yes."
- Miella Maarsitotts: "Then you're all set. I'm sorry if my little trick hurt your feelings. I'm sure later on, we'll be able to laugh about it together...over an ale!"

After having me run around talking to Fae in Jysolin's Pub with my tongue rolled up, Miella told me the joke was on me, the little prankster! On the bright side, I've successfully learned Faerlie!
