Walkthrough

Required Materials

Steps

Enter Bastion of Thunder: Lightning Strikes [Tradeskill] at .
Use the teleporter pad at to travel to the Tower of the Rainkeeper then speak to Karana at .
Use the teleporter pad at to return to the Torden Atrium.
Speak to Voonark at at the base of the Tower of Thunder in the southwest.
Collect the following: Note: Track Harvesting works on the nodes and the bucket used for gathering the water. Look for the bucket at each tower while harvesting the other mats.

- 10 Aluminum Orbs

  - Found around the base of The Tower of Thunder (SW) .
- 10 Zinc Orbs

  - Found around the base of Acolyte Tower: Arcanium (SE) .
- 10 Copper Orbs

  - Found around the base of The Glacial Tower (NW) . Note: The floor is slippery. Jumping repeatedly helps! Walk mode Helps as well.
- 10 Torden Clay

  - Found around the base of The Sandstorm Floor Tower (NE) .
- 5 Pure Water from the pool in front of Karana.
  - You need a bucket.
  - The bucket is found around the bottom, or at the top, of one of the towers. It is trackable; however, tracking won't "see" it from the base of the tower if it has spawned at the very top, so you may have to go up a few levels before detecting it.
  - Possible locations of a bucket:
    - Sand Tower
    - Lightning Tower
    - Ice Tower
    - Wind Tower
  - Use the teleporter pad at to go back to the Tower of the Rainkeeper
  - Fish for pure water in the pool at
Using the teleporter at return to the zone-in to receive the recipe, Untempered Lightning Rods.
Craft a Stack of Untempered Lightning Rods at the 'Forge of Storms' next to to the zone-in.
- Requires:
  - 10 Aluminum Orbs
  - 10 Copper Orbs
  - 10 Zinc Orbs
  - 50 Etherium
  - 50 Celestial Coal
Craft the Heated Clay Temper using the recipe provided.
- Requires:
  - 10 Torden Clay
  - 5 Pure Water
  - 50 Plumewit hide
  - 50 Gnarled entwood
  - 50 Celestial Coal
Examine the Heated Clay Temper in your inventory to apply it to the lightning rods
- Gives: A Stack of Clay-Covered Lightning Rods
Speak with Edlias the wyvern at in the NE tower.

- This step gives tradeskill exp. {at TS level 115, ~444,983,241; not counting bonuses.} (Maybe be percentage based, at 108 only got 7,779,358 exp not counting bonuses)(8,146,781@102)
Pick up a block of ice at the top of the NW Tower .

Block of Ice
- Note: This will start a 5 min timer. If you do die the melting iceblock returns to the top of the tower. When the timer expires a fresh block of ice will appear.
- It is possible to featherfall all the way back to the hall while holding your icecube, and a lot easier than skidding back on foot. A Gnomish Parachute Pack alone will not save a character carrying a block of ice.
- To assist in lessening travel time, making use of speed-boosting items will be helpful! e.g. Totem of the Deadly Sabertooth(gives 75% boost!), Earring of the Solstice(45% boost), etc.
Return to Edlias and place the block at .
- Known issue: The sparkly locator will not be there if you had to set the block down before reaching Edlias; you may have to try a few placements before it "clicks".
Speak to Edlias. Then place the rods on the sand patch in front of him. Note the hint about "standing aside" -- move to his side or stand behind him if you don't want to get knocked off the tower and die.
When Edlias has finished pick up the rods, then click the ice block to quench them. Once quenched, you can retrieve the now tempered Stack of Lightning Rods.
Place the four tempered lightning rods around the Tower of Thunder (SW), stand back to avoid being knocked back to your death by the strike of lightning and then collect the Solidified Lightning from each of the four placed lightning rods:
