Decipher sealed scrolls across the Tower of Frozen Shadow, defeat Cara Omica, and earn the Embalmer's Skinning Knife heritage reward.

Examine the book on the 2nd floor of Tower of Frozen Shadow: Shadowed Corridors to begin.

Notes & prerequisites

Adventure level 90 (Heroic difficulty).
Clear library trash before the timed disruptive-student event.
Sub-quests Besought Baubles and Unhappily Ever After provide two of the six sealed scrolls.

Steps

1. Speak to Marian Cross
Speak to Marian Cross on the 2nd floor in the frozen library.

2. Speak to J.G. Hill
Speak to J.G. Hill on the upper level of the library. Tell her the author's initials are "C.O."

3. Defeat 7 disruptive students
Defeat 7 disruptive students throughout the library (upstairs and downstairs). Timed event — 10 minute limit.
- Clear all library trash before step 2 to avoid interference.
- If time runs out, repeat step 2 to restart the event.

4. Receive the Sealed Ancient Scroll
Speak to J.G. Hill again. She gives you the Sealed Ancient Scroll for the second floor.

5. Obtain the Sealed Aged Scroll (1st floor)
On the first floor, enter the south-east room. A shadowbeast spawns — kill it and loot the scroll from the small chest. If absent, cycle through rooms until a Large Undead Gnoll spawns and drops it.

6. Obtain the Sealed Bloodstained Scroll (3rd floor)
Complete the sub-quest Besought Baubles on the third floor to obtain the Sealed Bloodstained Scroll.

7. Obtain the Sealed Dusty Scroll (4th floor)
In Umbral Halls fourth floor, click three canopic jars to spawn undead and collect organs, then click the coffin in the Floor 4 maze sub-level to spawn and defeat Amontehepna for the scroll.

8. Obtain the Sealed Moldy Scroll (5th floor)
Complete the sub-quest Unhappily Ever After on the fifth floor for the Sealed Moldy Scroll.

9. Obtain the Sealed Timeworn Scroll (6th floor)
Obtain the Sealed Timeworn Scroll on the sixth floor.

Zone: Tower of Frozen Shadow: Umbral Halls
10. Return to Marian Cross with all scrolls
Return to Marian Cross with all six sealed scrolls. She deciphers the book and identifies the author as Cara Omica.

11. Defeat Cara Omica
Return to Umbral Halls and defeat Cara Omica, the final named on the fourth floor (Darkness Rising).
- If you already killed her during scroll collection, you need a fresh instance.

12. Speak to Cara Omica's spirit
Once Cara Omica is defeated, speak to her spirit.

13. Return to Marian Cross for your reward
Return to Marian Cross in the frozen library to complete the quest.

Tips

Clear the entire library before starting the 10-minute disruptive-student timed event.
Two scrolls require sub-quests: Besought Baubles (3rd floor) and Unhappily Ever After (5th floor).
Cara Omica may need a new zone instance if you killed her earlier while collecting scrolls.
Rewards: Embalmer's Skinning Knife and The Legendary Embalmer's Skinning Knife.
