I have been told to find Renfry in his basement in Forlorn Gist. Not only do I have a message for him from the Far Seas Supply Division, but I am also hoping he may have news of Mairen.
Things didn't quite go as planned. Renfry ate the message that I tried to deliver to him. Then he used the defenses that I created for him to destroy a werewolf that turned out to be Mairen.
Renfry's basement should have an entrance somewhere in the little village near the start of Forlorn Gist.
Enter Renfry's Basement
Done: I have found and entered Renfry's basement
I found and entered Renfry's Basement.
I must speak with this very odd not-quite-dead pygmy.
Speak with Renfry
Done: I spoke with Renfry, who proceeded to eat the note I was trying to deliver to him.
Renfry ate my message without reading it!
I need to ask about representative Mairen.
Ask about Mairen
Done: Renfry needs my help with defenses and in return he will ask around regarding Mairen.
I am apparently "too tasty" to ask around on my own, so Renfry will check for Mairen in return for my crafting of some defenses.
I need to craft some items to help with defenses.
Craft Forlorn Barricades
Done: I have crafted the barricades.
Craft Gist Ballista
Craft Sanctuary From Werewolves
Done: I have crafted the sanctuary from werewolves spell.
I have crafted barricades and a ballista, as well as a werewolf protection scroll. That last one worries me a bit.
Hand the completed items to Renfry.
Give Renfry the defensive items
Done: Renfry now has the items needed to improve the defenses in the basement.
Renfry now has additional defenses for the basement to protect visitors.
Find out what the commotion is all about.
What's going on?
Done: Mairen has shown her true colors
A werewolf broke in and Renfry shot it dead. Sadly, it turned out to be Mairen.
Speak with Renfry once more.
Speak with Renfry
Done: I have spoken with Renfry again, for all the good that it did.
Renfry is distracted by talk of bugs again. I should search Mairen's corpse.
