After reading the book and accepting the quest, you are first asked to:

Kill 25 a Rabid Pups. When fished read the book.
Find three pages, one is in Brushfoot's -47.17, -10.12, -167.35 , one in Roundbelly's -195.73, -8.87, 102.36 , and the last in Middlehill's -214.40, -11.58, -124.37 All three are auto updates as soon as you walk up to the buildings, then read the book.
Kill 20 a Deceptive Thief or a Crazed Thief. When fished read the book.
