I spoke to someone called Dr. Arcana in Loping Plains near a mysterious portal, opened in the Village of Somborn. In their very cryptic way, Dr. Arcana asked that I take advantage of the portal and enter Vasty Deep, in pursuit of powerful magical relics. I was warned to be very careful within the "temple of amoral exploration of magic, science, mutation and intelligent design", noting the inhabitants that may already be inside this "temple", may be just as dangerous as the invaders I will be trailing behind. Overall, I am expected to beat these plunderers to some very powerful arcana.
I was able to obtain some very interesting weapons within the halls of Vasty Deep. Dr. Arcana did not give me much to go on, but they seemed pleased with what I had brought back. The rewards for the work, of which Arcana did absolutely nothing, not even really direct, are plentiful. This leads me to believe that much of what I acquired was quite powerful and very valuable.
I must delve deeper into the laboratories of Vasty Deep if I am to locate any magical artifacts.
