Recover the Manastone by following Stiletto's orders through Cove of Decay, Varsoon, and the Chamber of Immortality.

Notes & prerequisites

Stiletto's Orders drops from Stiletto — killing him starts this quest.
Stiletto respawns in roughly 5 minutes.
Adventure level 25+ required to start.
Artisan crafting level 9+ required to craft the Shroud of the Manastone yourself, or commission it from another crafter.
You must enter Cove of Decay to complete the quest (access quests are no longer required).
Cove of Decay is a heroic zone (formerly Epic x2).

Where to find Stiletto

Stiletto spawns in the Thundering Steppes near Crater Mine and may swim in the lake. Check these common locations:

Between Deadview Pass and Gnoll Cave
Gnoll Cave area
Near Coldwind Cove
Near Centaur Camp

Steps

1. Investigating Kedge's Lament
- Enter Cove of Decay and kill The Octagorgon. (Step 9 of An Axe from the Past also uses this instance.)
- After Octagorgon, swim to the ocean floor and search interactive chests on the ground.
- One chest contains a Partially Digested Hand — only one group member needs to loot it; a hand from a prior run works, but Octagorgon must still be killed each time.
- Return to the beach firepit. The player with the hand right-clicks the remains in the firepit and selects "Place the hand in the fire".
- This spawns Captain Ulssissaris (level 32 ^^^ heroic). Kill him to update the quest.

2. Find information about the torn silk bag
Head to the Ruins of Varsoon and examine the interactive book on a table to the right, just inside the door in the Workshop of the Enchanter. The room is south of the entrance to the Chamber of Immortality.

3. Kill Weavemaster Esh'Rax
Esh'Rax spawns in the tailor room. Respawn is about 30 minutes (10 minutes on Origin). He drops the Shroud of the Manastone Recipe and Enchanted Linen of the Weavemaster via the quest reward window — safe to group.

4. Craft the Shroud of the Manastone
- Combine the enchanted linen with 1 Boiled leather pelt, 1 Glimmering Material, and 1 Basic Filament.
- Artisan level 9+ required to scribe the recipe if crafting yourself.
- You can bring a Portable Sewing Table (crafting level 30+ to use) and supplies, craft in RoV, then continue straight to Varsoon.

5. Kill Varsoon the Undying
Step 8 of A Strange Black Rock also requires Varsoon the Undying. After he dies, loot the Manastone from a chest in a small room off the main chamber.

Tips

Only one Partially Digested Hand is needed per group for the firepit step.
Kill Octagorgon every run even if reusing a hand from a previous instance.
Plan for Cove of Decay (heroic) and Varsoon — bring a group or mercenary.
Esh'Rax drops are quest rewards and can be shared in group.
